World Cancer Day – Honouring Tim Likos

On World Cancer Day, we remember those we have lost and stand beside those still fighting.

This Sunday, 8 February, we come together for the second annual Likos Legacy Golf Fundraiser, held in honour of Timmy- a sarcoma warrior who bravely battled Ewing’s sarcoma for almost six years.

Throughout his journey, Tim never let cancer define him or dampen his positive attitude. He supported others affected by this disease, always encouraging those around him. As Chrissie, his sister and organiser of the fundraiser, says, “Timmy had a way of making people feel loved and supported. Seeing everyone come together in his honour is really special.”

Timmy was also a passionate advocate for blood donation, having donated regularly before his diagnosis. He lived life fully and left a real impact on everyone he met. Danielle, his wife and co-organiser of the event, adds, “Tim’s positivity and generosity were infectious. The golf fundraiser is a way for us to continue his legacy, to help others and raise awareness in his memory.”

An incredible father, husband, son, brother, uncle, and friend, Timmy’s legacy lives on through the lives he touched and the community that now gathers in his honour. Last year, this event raised over $9,000 to support cancer research and awareness.

This Sunday, we hope the event will once again be a fantastic opportunity to bring the community together- raising funds for sarcoma research, remembering, and honouring Tim, and celebrating his life while playing a sport he loved: Golf!!
