Day 1 Wrap up

Today marks the kick-off of ANZSA’s 2024 Annual Scientific Meeting. We have arrived in Brisbane and we couldn't be more excited to be here!

In 2024, ANZSA has a dynamic board of 11 members and 31 Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) members. It’s truly remarkable to have everyone gathered in one place.

The reason ANZSA exists is to improve outcomes for sarcoma patients. With the help of the SAC members ANZSA is able to valuable facilitate research through their expertise, guidance, and collaboration, driving us forward.

Honoring our retiring board members

We would like to recognize and thank our esteemed founding board members Jayesh Desai and Marianne Phillips who are retiring and stepping down from their roles. They have given their time, dedication and contributions for the last 15 years that has been invaluable. 

We wish them all the best in their future endeavors and look forward to continuing working with them.

SAC Spotlights

This meeting the SAC were busy discussing new research concepts and future exciting projects. With the help of the SAC members ANZSA is able to facilitate valuable research through their expertise, guidance, and collaboration, driving us forward. 

What’s Next?

Tomorrow, we will begin the day with The Sarcoma Community Connection 2024 hearing inspiring patient and survivor stories.

Then, we look forward to the beginning of the ANZSA ASM 2024, we will hear from researchers and sarcoma specialists from Australia and New Zealand to discuss the latest multidisciplinary research.

The Great Debate: "Should All Patients with Sarcoma be Enrolled on a Clinical Trials."

Lastly, we will end the evening with the exciting Gala Dinner!
